Add Amplitude Integration to Fulcrum

This documentation provides step-by-step instructions on how to add the Amplitude integration to Fulcrum. The integration will allow you to

  1. create dynamic segments based on product behavior data from Amplitude.
  2. import existing Cohorts from Amplitude as segments into Fulcrum
  3. access amplitude data based segments to your application code

Step 1: Choose "Connect" for Amplitude on the Integrations Page

  1. Log in to Fulcrum (opens in a new tab)

  2. Navigate to the "Integrations" page Fulcrum Amplitude Integration

  3. Look for the "Amplitude" integration and click on the "Connect" button.

Step 2: Add the Amplitude Project API Key

  1. After clicking "Connect" for the Amplitude integration, you will be prompted to provide the Amplitude Project API key.

  2. Open a new tab or window in your web browser and log in to your Amplitude account.

  3. Once logged in, navigate to the settings page.

  4. Choose the project for which you want to generate an API key.

    Fulcrum Amplitude API Key

  5. Locate the API key associated with the desired project and copy it to your clipboard.

  6. Return to Fulcrum and paste the API key into the designated field for the Amplitude integration.

Step 3: Add the Secret from the Same Amplitude Project

  1. In addition to the API key, the Amplitude integration requires a secret for authentication purposes.
  2. While still in the Amplitude project settings, locate the Secret Key.
  3. Obtain the secret associated with the same project as the API key.
  4. Copy the secret to your clipboard.
  5. Go back to the Fulcrum admin panel or dashboard and find the field for the Amplitude secret.
  6. Paste the secret into the designated field.

Once you have completed these steps, your Fulcrum tool will be connected to Amplitude, and user events will start fetching to Fulcrum. You can now create dynamic segments on the ingested data.

It's important to note that the Amplitude events are ingested every hour into Fulcrum. If you encounter any difficulties or have trouble locating specific settings, please refer to the Fulcrum documentation or reach out to us at help@getfulcrum.io
